Avoid getting your vision go to death before your breakthrough.
We dream, we act. We act and we act bad. We dream again. Or we dream and do nothing about it. A vision is an abstract construct of dreams, pegged on a line of a different mindset, a mindset that goes against the general thinking of the time. A vision has its own list of qualities and characteristics. More than a mere plan, a vision unlocks impossible doors to greatness. This is because, I believe, a vision is a roadmap while a plan is a single highway. Those who get stuck trying to meet their plans are stuck forever. Those who get stuck trying to bring their vision into reality have the room to reverse and find navigable sub-routes with less traffic.

But what if the vision itself is not all it takes for it to be achieved? Achieving something takes favourable action, including not failing to put a full stop to a statement you make. What takes time to build/find shouldn’t be allowed to go and disappear at the last moment. A vision is among those goodies that takes a greater chunk of one’s life to be brought into existence. Therefore, a vision seeks an all in execution. The execution have nothing to do with perfection but seeks rather to be watered by your commitment as input to keep itself moving toward achievement.
If a vision is a living organism, it is one whose life source or starting point is the process of creativity and imagination. But in order for it to stay alive more creativity and imagination must be channelled into it and execute it properly. Upon execution, a vision becomes a strategy, goals, failures and so on. Success is a rarity among the fruits of this execution and it being rare can kill the vision. Listen: The reason why people are impatient is they expect patience to pay.
Things don’t happen in time. They happen in their time of choice [sic]. If it takes their time it takes your patience for them to happen. Time should be allowed to pass and delays be welcomed. Acceptance of the fact that things happen in their time of choice is the chief source of patience. This kind of patience do not sell out before victory for it do not seek a payment or consolation prizes but failures and breakthroughs.
When the vision is there but there are high expectations that withdraw the patience factor, a vision is likely to face its own death before it can meet its breakthrough. To try and turn your vision into reality, it should mean being left behind by peers, being with limited expectations, sometimes welcoming being alone and being without. Breakthrough favours those who have no reasons to appear and look good in the meantime. Breakthroughs favour those willing to only feel good in the meantime, whatever the situation they might face.
The up building of a vision happen when you are mad enough to think outside boxes that we never heard of. It is when you listen to what people say, think about your madness and feel about your madness that you are broken down and taken away from your vision. If you are to both listen and save your dreams from untimely death, listen to no other but your dreams. The good things you take from you, from your inner voice, are important than what anyone might give you. So help yourself before you think someone should.
It is not only people that will have an opposing say about your vision. Your resources and your financial footing can be along with the said people. “It can’t happen” does not mean there is no way. If the reality is saying no, mute it. Muting the background noise means you are narrowing it all to one thing to listen to, that is, your vision itself. Your vision is not to find its breakthroughs out of the things you do not have, it’s not after that. Your vision will rely on what you have and what you are. If anything, those you are yet to be and yet to have can only be a forging of what you are now.
Frankly these can keep your vision alive and help you to achieve your dreams:
- Patience • The tendency to let time pass and to suffer for what you are hoping to achieve. Let it take time. It’s not like you are dying in the next twenty-fours hours. And even if you die in the next twenty-four hours you can get to consider yourself as one who died trying.
- Being a hero to the self • Standing by your words and what you promised yourself to be ready to go through.
- Muting the background noise • You don’t have to be taken down by what people say and think about you and what you is trying to come up with.
- Not missing out on having to do what you do passionately. Just throw a happy smile at whatever displeases, and, of course, seconds of shedding them tears are welcome as an emotion release valve.
- Welcoming loneliness should there be a need • This is what it does. Building a vision and having to pursue it puts you on a lonely path.
- You have to be creative, thinking outside boxes we never heard of. Imagine. This is what brings the vision into the first place and so it should keep you moving forward.
- Welcome failure than necessary and tolerate it so that you can learn from it.
- Expectations are not cool. Keep them low if you wish to achieve greater things in life as a visionary.
- Nothing beats vision. A plan will not come closer to a vision among the things that takes one to greatness. Embrace the very fact that you have a vision and not a mere plan. Have qualities of a visionary.
