Characteristics of an opportunity you have to chase after

Depending on who is defining, an opportunity is a, when compared to alternatives, a seemingly easier solution to the realisation of elements in the item-lost of your desires, goals, vision, thoughts and mindset. As the one judging and assessing all options available, an opportunity emerges to you as shockingly easier. It presents a path of continuity where others can’t. It offers what seemingly is better where others involve a learning curve, higher expenditure and going through things and people you hate. In some cases, it makes a perfect handshake with your ego, where alternatives appear to challenge it. Most importantly it offers more. Words and phrases like “chance” or “limited window” are used to suggest it’s timed (now or never) existence and its non-substitutability.

Its freeness from exploiting desperation of other peoples involved in

The question we have here is which of these opportunities that present themselves to you are worth chasing? An opportunity prompts action, a mindset change and the realisation of the fact that the time is now. It presents itself to you either with a single pathway to get to realise it or alsing you to establish the ways. Of these ways, see to it if any respect the other humans that will be in the process. In our definition of opportunity, the word desire is provided as one of the things an opportunity makes you to easily realise them. If sexual desire, I guess, an opportunity is an individual who can provide it to you cheaply. This is whether or not they have been desperate in and after events leading to them presenting to you as an opportunity.

Even with their consent, having someone’s desperation to address your desires and hunger is not humane. Five blocks from where I stay, a single woman sort of fell in love with the landlord. The former was employed by the latter, but then was told that she might start paying the rents. Although she was never informed that she would be fired from her job for refusing the gentleman’s approach, the fear of losing both a roof over her head and her job played a part in her decision. She was exploited.

I also discussed my former employee, a registered security company, who paid us any amount they wished just because on the contract forms we signed the salary was never started. We simply thought they would pay us the amount that security companies in the town paid their workers. The opportunity for the company is, labour is not only cheap but the prevailing economic conditions put the rest of the citizens in a dire situation. Exploitable desperation in this case is the opportunity. But it is one not to be taken.

Its promise for long-term solution than what benefit you in the short term

You are also encouraged to look for hints that points to the benefits of the opportunity being long-term to you and the other parties being involved. My former employers retired every three months, and was at hire risk of losing his clients due to a higher count of deserting security guards. Rehiring itself comes at a cost. In this case exploiting desperate job seekers did more harm to them as a company as much as it did to desperate job seekers. In other words, a good opportunity is characterised by long-termness. Even when it appear not  to bring the indefinite solution, it promises to provide longer lasting results than the rest of the alternatives.

Its ability to cure your toxic desires and hungers, and benefit others

A good opportunity is known for its commendable inner work for one who seizes it. Another security company three blocks from the one I took note of above realised that the labour market is cheap but decided to pay its security officers well above the competition. It catered for transport costs and basic medical insurance. Job retention was higher. Its officers behaved well on the premises they were asked to protect. The point is that a good opportunity can be seized without you resorting to opportunism. Opportunism is mounting over exploitable landscapes and situations without observing any codes, rules or morals.

When you distance yourself from opportunism you will be held accountable by your willingness to lose and your toxic desires and hungers are kept in check. But more often you will find yourself taking because the community will benefit along with you. A me-first approach was not designed to survive this. It does not thrive when you share the spoils of anything with anyone.

Corruption, bribery and violation of human rights are manifestations of a bad opportunity or opportunism.
